I SPENT TWENTY YEARS DESIGNING PRODUCTS AND LEADING DESIGN TEAMS. NOW I'M HANDS ON AGAIN, WORKING DIRECTLY WITH FOUNDERS AND PRODUCT TEAMS.

My Mission
The higher I moved in design leadership, the further I got from the work. More alignment, less designing. More headcount conversations, fewer problems solved. I got good at it, and I stopped enjoying it. So I went back.
What I care about is the work itself. Sitting with a hard problem, figuring out what people actually need, and building the thing. Twenty years across startups and corporations taught me that most products fail at the framing, not the pixels. Teams build the wrong thing beautifully.
When a team is stuck arguing about a design decision, it's almost always because nobody defined what good looks like. Define it first and the debate ends. That's why I bring measurement into the work from the start, not as an afterthought once it's shipped.
And a design that doesn't ship isn't a design, it's a picture. I build what I design in React so the intent survives, because I've watched too much good work die in translation between a spec and an engineer.
